21 APIs & Bcoin: Are They Bitcoin’s Next Killer Apps? – YMB Podcast E145

This is episode 145 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast!

First up today, we're chatting about The 21 Marketplace. 21 Inc. made waves awhile back when they announced their Bitcoin Computer, but at the time no one really knew what they were up to. Turns out one of their main projects was this API marketplace, which allows people to buy and sell computing power (API calls) with Bitcoin. Could something like this be a killer app for Bitcoin?

We'll also spend some time investigating GlobeSpotter, a new service that claims to be the first one built entirely on top of 21's grid computing network. It uses nodes on the 21 network to monitor websites and servers at a much lower cost than traditional services.

Then to wrap things up, we'll cover Bcoin, a new JavaScript library for Bitcoin built by Purse. Bitcoin Core is complicated software that can be incredibly hard to work with, but a library like this should make it much easier to develop for Bitcoin.

Tune in to learn why these could be Bitcoin's next killer apps! Your hosts are Daniel Brown, Tim Baker, and John Stuart. Enjoy!
