This is episode 183 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast.

Scaling, scaling, scaling. Everything is about scaling these days. Do we want SegWit2x? UASF? No changes? Something else?

To be honest, we're kinda sick of talking about scaling, so tonight we're gonna dive into something related but different: sidechains. Or more specifically, drivechains.

The concept of sidechains has been around for awhile, but according to Kyle Torpey, it appears that a protocol called drivechain will soon become the leading sidechain implementation.

One theory is that sidechains will solve Bitcoin scaling by allowing completely new blockchains to reduce Bitcoin's load. Is this really possible? Would it compromise Bitcoin's security? We'll try to answer those questions and share more details during this week's livestream.

Then later in the show, we'll cover some brand new events in the Mt. Gox saga. Karpeles is finally going to trial, but (of course) he says he's innocent.

Tune in at tonight 9PM Eastern and check the list below for some of the specific stories we'll cover!
