This is episode 255 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast.

People have long accused Twitter of secretly hiding tweets and accounts that management didn't like. Users call the practice "shadowbanning" and often lament their victimhood. The left likes to claim that Twitter shadowbans the left, atheists like to claim that Twitter shadowbans atheists, and so on.

So recently, Twitter tried to set the record straight. In a blog post, they insisted that they never shadowban and outlined what methods they do use to rank tweets. They also explained some tech bugs that looked like shadowbanning.

As liberty lovers, free speech is an important topics for all of us here at YMB. So we wanted to dedicate an episode to the gigantic algorithms that constantly impact our lives.

Do we think Twitter, Facebook, Google, and the other giants ever intend to create biased or broken algorithms? Or even if the algorithms worked perfectly, would they be healthy for society? Should such big companies be allowed to have as much influence as they do?

Of course, we have opinions on all that. And since this is our show, we're gonna rant hard for an hour straight (as we do every week). Tune in tonight at 9PM Eastern and check the list below for some of the specific stories we'll cover!
