This is episode 60 of You, Me, and BTC, the planet's most entertaining Bitcoin podcast!
This week, we're chatting about two cyberhacks that tell an interesting story. For starters, a Chinese Bitcoin exchange called BTER had about $1.75 million dollars worth of Bitcoin stolen from a cold wallet. That's awful, right? Should this encourage us to start using Bitcoin less because it's so insecure? Probably not, because the second heist is even more shocking.
For several years now, a team of hackers has been taking control of bank networks around the world. All told, the group may have stolen as much as a billion dollars. It's likely the largest bank robbery in history, but until last week, it was never even noticed. Perhaps our fiat currency has some security issues of its own.
We'll share our thoughts on all this crazy news and tons more. Your hosts are Tim Baker, Daniel Brown, and John Stuart. Enjoy!
