The Bitcoin Converter Began with BTC and mBTC

I noticed that several people found my original Bitcoin Converter when searching for a way to convert from mBTC to BTC and BTC to USD. While this is an extremely simple Bitcoin conversion, I figured I’d create this BTC converter just in case someone really wanted it. So, here it is, my BTC and mBTC (and now, bits and Satoshis and USD and EUR and GBP) converter. We use the BitcoinAverage Price Index for every USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP conversion. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for improving the Bitcoin converter.

New Bitcoin Unit: Bits

We recently added support for any Bitcoin conversion to or from bits! Bits are one millionth of one Bitcoin or one thousandth of one mBTC. A bit is the same thing as a μBTC or a microbitcoin. Enjoy!

New Currency (9/2/14): USD

You can now convert to and from US dollars with the BTC converter (in addition to Bitcoin, mBTC, and bits). This is perfect for the conversion that everyone needs: BTC to USD. The exchange rate is from Bitcoin Average. This Bitcoin converter just keeps getting better!

New Bitcoin Unit (10/1/14): Satoshi

We’ve added the Satoshi to the Bitcoin calculator. The Satoshi is currently the smallest unit of Bitcoin available. There are 100 million of them in one full Bitcoin. All other units (mBTC, bits, USD) are still available, so there are tons of Bitcoin conversion pairs to choose from. Satoshi to BTC? We’ve got that. Want to convert from the Satoshi to USD? You can! This Bitcoin converter is now extremely versatile.

New Currency (3/4/15): EUR

We recently added support for the Euro! Now you can use this calculator to do Bitcoin conversions like BTC to EUR and EUR to BTC. You could even convert something like EUR to USD and see what the rate looks like using Bitcoin as the base currency!

New Altcoins (2/7/16): ETH and LTC

The Bitcoin converter is now an altcoin converter as well! We’ve added support for some of the most popular alternative cryptocurrencies, Ethereum and Litecoin. You can find them by checking the box that says “Show Altcoins” and start converting instantly. If you want to convert from ETH to BTC, we’ve got your back. Or if you need a calculator for Ethereum to Bitcoin, we can do that too. Let us know what altcoin we should add next!

  1. Hello. I just recently got into “coin collecting”. I ran across Bitcoins a few years ago and thought about it, but decided it would never amount to much. What a mistake that was. I got deep in to it now and have made my first BTC:) I also decided to add a few more…Just in case. If you coud atleast add Doge and Ruble to your converter that would be great. I have started a small panel of international poor people that are farming different faucets to try and build something for their kids to go to college. We’ll take the free satoshis, doges and the like then pool what we have and reinvest them when I find a trustable source. I call it The Family Growth Fund. Just like America…we’ll build something from nothing…from the ground up. Built BY poor people…FOR poor people. It would be nice to have a reliable converter for as many coin types as possible. I’m thinking we’ll stick with Satoshi, Doge, Lite and Eth…but I am watching the others VERY closely just in case. Thanks for considering

  2. This page is useful. Thanks alot

  5. I wish to visit the “silkroad” equivalent on the deep web with the intention of making a purchase. The price of 2 units of the item I wish to purchase is ~60.00USD, which converts to .102 bitcoins. Can fractions (or bits) of bitcoins be purchased, since it appears they are accepted, thereby reducing the single bitcoin into a fraction. Since The value of one single bitcoin is about 550.00 USD, purchasing one is out of the question. I only wish to purchase the bitcoin equivalent to around 100.00 USD.
So how does this work? thanks

    • I am sure you resolved this already, but just in case others have the same question. Yes you can purchase partial amounts of bitcoin. There are many exchanges online to do so, one of the more trusted sites is

    • Bro. What kind of freaking OPSEC is this?? I guarantee you were not protected while making this comment. This is a ridiculous comment. Telling everyone that you want to purchase off SR (which is obsolete now) is the dumbest idea you can possibly make. You do not think LEA SCOURS these kinds of websites to see who is associating themselves with BTC? You sir should not be making purchases off marketplaces if you can not follow SIMPLE OPSEC. You are making yourself a low hanging fruit and LEA is hungry. Get right or get put in PRISON.

  29. The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
    …only missing μBTC!

(and an ‘enter’ button, yes, I concur with the previous posters)

    • Alright then, by popular demand, a submit button will be coming soon! And @CoinSlumIt, a μBTC is the same thing as a bit. 😉 I’ll get some new labeling and new info in there to explain that.

I’m out of town right now but I should have these updates done within 2-3 days. Thanks for the feedback!

  30. I pressed enter no results showed, also refreshed the page and still no results showing. Hope you get this working!!

    • Please ignore my comment. I got it working. You have to enter in the amount you wish to trade first then select what you wish to convert it to. After doing this, the results will auto-fill!!

  31. You should be able to just press enter and the result should show up. Or changing one of the settings in the middle should refresh the result too. Hope it works!

  32. How do you get the total, I do not see any enter button or calculate button?
