The Bitcoin Converter Began with BTC and mBTC

I noticed that several people found my original Bitcoin Converter when searching for a way to convert from mBTC to BTC and BTC to USD. While this is an extremely simple Bitcoin conversion, I figured I'd create this BTC converter just in case someone really wanted it. So, here it is, my BTC and mBTC (and now, bits and Satoshis and USD and EUR and GBP) converter. We use the CryptoCompare Price Index for every USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP conversion. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for improving the Bitcoin converter.

New Bitcoin Unit: Bits

We recently added support for any Bitcoin conversion to or from bits! Bits are one millionth of one Bitcoin or one thousandth of one mBTC. A bit is the same thing as a μBTC or a microbitcoin. Enjoy!

New Currency (9/2/14): USD

You can now convert to and from US dollars with the BTC converter (in addition to Bitcoin, mBTC, and bits). This is perfect for the conversion that everyone needs: BTC to USD. The exchange rate is from CryptoCompare. This Bitcoin converter just keeps getting better!

New Bitcoin Unit (10/1/14): Satoshi

We've added the Satoshi to the Bitcoin calculator. The Satoshi is currently the smallest unit of Bitcoin available. There are 100 million of them in one full Bitcoin. All other units (mBTC, bits, USD) are still available, so there are tons of Bitcoin conversion pairs to choose from. Satoshi to BTC? We've got that. Want to convert from the Satoshi to USD? You can! This Bitcoin converter is now extremely versatile.

New Currency (3/4/15): EUR

We recently added support for the Euro! Now you can use this calculator to do Bitcoin conversions like BTC to EUR and EUR to BTC. You could even convert something like EUR to USD and see what the rate looks like using Bitcoin as the base currency.

New Altcoins (2/7/16): ETH and LTC

The Bitcoin converter is now an altcoin converter as well! We've added support for some of the most popular alternative cryptocurrencies, Ethereum and Litecoin. You can find them by checking the box that says "Show Altcoins" and start converting instantly. If you want to convert from ETH to BTC, we've got your back. Or if you need a calculator for Ethereum to Bitcoin, we can do that too. Let us know what altcoin we should add next!

New Altcoin (8/7/2017): Bitcoin Cash

Now that Bitcoin officially forked, I added Bitcoin Cash (also known as Bcash, BCH, and BCC) to the list. For now, it'll be a primary currency (meaning you don't have to check the "Show Altcoins" box to see it). But if BCH crashes over time as many expect, I'll move it into the altcoins area to reduce clutter.

So go ahead! Try out a BCH to BTC conversion and see how much extra value you may have lying around in your old Bitcoin wallets.

  1. Hello there, I unexpectedly gave permission to generate hashes over my device to your site.. What is the benefit Iam getting and also I am not seeing option to stop. Nor able to see settings to avail benefit.

    • Hey Jyothi,

Thanks for using our site! The mining feature is a new thing we’re trying out that lets you remove ads and mine cryptocurrency for us instead. That’s the benefit – no ads!

I’m still working on it though so you’re right, there aren’t too many settings available yet. But I just added a link at the top of the page that will let you turn off the mining and see ads again if you prefer!

Please let me know if you have any questions, thoughts, or suggestions.

      Best,
      Daniel

  4. Hola, excelente y fácil convertirdor. Podrías agregar el bolívar (moneda de curso legal en Venezuela). Muchas gracias

  5. Hello. I just recently got into “coin collecting”. I ran across Bitcoins a few years ago and thought about it, but decided it would never amount to much. What a mistake that was. I got deep in to it now and have made my first BTC:) I also decided to add a few more…Just in case. If you coud atleast add Doge and Ruble to your converter that would be great. I have started a small panel of international poor people that are farming different faucets to try and build something for their kids to go to college. We’ll take the free satoshis, doges and the like then pool what we have and reinvest them when I find a trustable source. I call it The Family Growth Fund. Just like America…we’ll build something from nothing…from the ground up. Built BY poor people…FOR poor people. It would be nice to have a reliable converter for as many coin types as possible. I’m thinking we’ll stick with Satoshi, Doge, Lite and Eth…but I am watching the others VERY closely just in case. Thanks for considering

  6. This page is useful. Thanks alot

  9. Nigerians are among the greatest chunk of African nationals trading bitcoin, can you add the NGN currency to the list?

    • You got it! Thanks so much for the suggestion. I just added ZAR and NGN as new fiat currencies on the Bitcoin converter. So try out a BTC to NGN conversion and let me know if you need anything else!

      Best,
      Daniel

      • Nigerian currency isn’t there like you said, not even ZAR

        • Hey there!

To make those currencies available, you have to check the box that says Show Altcoins & More Currencies. I just have that so that the dropdown list isn’t huge at first and so it’s easier to find the more common currencies.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

          Best,
          Daniel
