This is episode 81 of You, Me, and BTC - your liberty and Bitcoin podcast!
Today we're chatting about two marketplaces with very different views on Bitcoin. First up is Backpage.com. After being rejected by Visa and MasterCard, the classified ad website now uses Bitcoin almost exclusively. This has driven many of the site's users into the Bitcoin space for the first time. One Bitcoin broker, Paxful, has been overwhelmed with new customers from Backpage and says that most of them have come to appreciate cryptocurrency.
Then we'll spend some time discussing Ebay, which has done almost exactly the opposite. At least one seller had a listing pulled this week because he accepted Bitcoin. Ebay said the currency was too new, unsafe, and hard to use, so we'll try to decide whether or not we agree.
Your hosts are Tim Baker and Daniel Brown. Enjoy!
